low carbohydrate chocolate Chef Allan's own gourmet low carbohydrate chocolate line! LOW CARB YUMMIES RATING: the quality you would find in fine chocolate specialty shops - 5 stars. (TIP: If you wish to make sure that your chocolates arrive un-melted during warm months, request "2 day air with ice packs" shipping)
TRUE Carb Counts in maltitol sweetened candies Our sugar free candy is sweetened with maltisorb and maltitol, not lactitol or splenda. It tastes just like sugar! From my experience as a diabetic, the "effective" carbs are much less than the "rated carbs", because they pass through the body before absorbing. Some people say only 1% of "rated carbs" absorb. Others say 30%. I'm a diabetic, not just a low carb dieter, and take this very seriously. I have NO sugar spike with our candies. My dad eats a few every night before bed (a bad time) and stays in heavy ketosis. Just don't overindulge, and check your ketosis (or blood sugar if diabetic). See for yourself. Also, see "eating tip" at bottom of page. A candy-maker I know did an experiment with maltitol and her diabetic friends. She made SWEET fruit pies with lots of maltitol syrup. They tracked their blood sugar before and for a few hours after eating it. They had NO "sugar spike"!
chocolates are all sugar free low carb milk chocolates (unless specified) NOTE: If you choose to order chocolates in the warm months, we'll do all we can to ensure it arrives un-melted. During warm months you must choose 1 or 2 day shipping with ice pack to prevent melting. If you don't, or after it is shipped, it is exposed to high temperatures, or it is delayed, we aren't responsible for the chocolates melting. Check off which candies you want, pick the quantity, then click the "add these to my cart" button at the bottom of the list of candies.

(Eating tip: Many people have difficulty staying regular on this diet. Chocolates and candy can make the difference in succeeding or failing. Fortunately for we "low-carb chocolate lovers", excess consumption of our gourmet chocolates have a mild laxative effect if you eat too many at a time. Why do I say "fortunately"? Because that "problem" is also a GREAT excuse to eat them! Eating "the right amount" everyday helps keep you regular - hey, what a great rationalization to eat chocolate! "It's not just a sinful indulgence dear, it's a necessary health supplement". Right. Yep. I'm with you! Anyway, I'm told that eating them on a full stomach greatly reduces the laxative effect, while eating them on an empty stomach maximizes it.)
