sugar free low carb chocolate by Chef Allan!
|
I don't know about you but I am a chocoholic ( I blame my mother for passing along the “chocoholic gene” to me). That was one of the tougher things to give up on the atkins diet. I pass a gourmet chocolate shop on my way to work every day, to make it harder. Some days I find myself taking a detour to avoid the sweet smell of chocolate. I swear I break ketosis just passing by the open doorway. Again, Chef Allan to the rescue. His chocolates are so incredibly good that I don't think I'll never have or want chocolate with real sugar again. In fact I am eating a mocha expresso truffle right now. And when I am done with this one, you know what? I’m gonna have another! Ketosis intact!! Care to join me? (See eating tip from Chef Allan at the bottom of the page) Click here to see why I don't worry about blowing ketosis I also know a lady who did a little experiment with maltitol and her diabetic friends. She made fruit pies with plenty of maltitol syrup- nice and sweet! They diligently tracked their blood sugar before eating a piece of pie, and for a few hours after eating it. They had NO "sugar spike"!

Eating tip: Many people
have difficulty staying regular on this diet. Chocolates and candy can make the
difference in succeeding or failing. Fortunately for we "low-carb chocolate lovers", excess consumption of
our gourmet chocolates have a mild laxative effect if you eat too many at a
time. Why do I say "fortunately"? Because that
"problem" is also a GREAT excuse to eat them! Eating "the right amount" everyday helps keep you regular
- hey, what a great rationalization to eat chocolate! "It's not just a sinful
indulgence dear, it's a necessary health supplement". Right. Yep. I'm with you! Anyway, I'm told that eating them on a full
stomach greatly reduces the laxative effect, while eating them on an empty
stomach maximizes it.
